Windows 11 Build 22543 in Dev Channel adds 'Jenny' and 'Aria' to Narrator, along with fixes
Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22543 to the Dev Channel. Among them, Microsoft is continuing to improve Voice, adding two new voice narrations for "Jenny" and "Aria", as well as more visual adjustments, including media control pop-up on the lock screen and microphone muting. More fixes have also made their way into this release, which you can check out below.
Anyway, here’s what’s new in Build 22543:
A more natural narration voice
Microsoft has introduced a more natural voice for narrators sound. More natural sound enables Narrator users to enjoy browsing the web, reading and composing emails, and more. Natural Narrator Speech uses text-to-speech on modern devices and does not require an internet connection to support it once downloaded. Natural Narrator Voice Support English - US
Get Started
Narrator will offer more natural voices for "Jenny" and "Aria" as announced at initial release.

Select "Install Now" in the announcement window to go to Narrator Settings to add a new voice. From there you can select the "Add" button under the "Add Natural Sounds" section. This dialog box allows you to select the "Jenny" or "Aria" voice. Both sounds can be installed, but must be installed separately. You can click "Preview" to listen to the voice, and you can select "Install" to start downloading the selected voice.
The Select Nature Sounds to Install dialog box displays a list of Nature Sound preview, install, and cancel buttons.
New Narrator Keyboard Commands
Additionally, we’re making it easier for Narrator users to switch between voices to better support reading, navigation, and more Common tasks.
Newly added Narrator keyboard commands include:
- Narrator Alt Minus key – Moves to the previous voice in the Narrator voice settings combo box.
- Narrator Alt Plus key – Move to the next voice in the Narrator voice settings combo box.
Updated keyboard commands include:
- Narrator Alt Left Bracket Key – Move to previous punctuation reading mode.
- Narrator Alt Right Bracket Key - Move to next punctuation reading mode.
We look forward to you trying our new natural sounds and hope to hear from you in the Feedback Center (Win F) under Accessibility >Teller feedback and suggestions. First up
