Attach an elastic network adapter when creating an instance

On the ECS console, you can attach an elastic network adapter (ENI) when creating an ECS instance. For specific operations and instructions on creating an instance, see Step 2: Create an ECS instance. This article mainly introduces the precautions for attaching elastic network cards when creating ECS instances.

When attaching an elastic network card when creating an ECS instance, you need to pay attention to the following configurations:

Basic configuration:

Region: All regions support elastic network cards.

Instance: Select an instance specification that supports elastic network cards, and it must be an I/O optimized instance. For details, see Instance Type Family.

Image: Only the following images can support automatic identification of elastic network cards without configuration

CentOS 7.3 64-bit

CentOS 6.8 64-bit

Windows Server 2016 Data Center Edition 64-bit

Windows Server 2012 R2 Data Center Edition 64-bit

If it is another image, after creating the instance, you need to configure the elastic network card so that it can be recognized.

Network and Security Group:

Network type: Must be private network, and select the created private network and switch.

Elastic network card: Click Add network card to create a new elastic network card, and then select the switch to which the elastic network card belongs.

Note

When creating an instance on the console, you can only attach a maximum of 2 elastic network cards, one is the primary network card and the other is the secondary network card. You can use any of the following methods to attach more secondary network cards:

Create an elastic network card on the ECS console and attach the elastic network card to the instance.

Use AttachNetworkInterface to attach more elastic network cards to the instance.

The auxiliary network card created in this way will be released together with the instance if it is not separated from the instance.
