Records of the entire process of building a WordPress blog from scratch on CentOS system, centoswordpress
Overview
I recently bought a server and am planning to set up a personal blog to continuously update my blog,
Environment
- Server operating system: CentOS 7.0
- Blog deployment server: Apache
- Backend language: PHP
- Database: MySql
- Front-end framework: WordPress
Steps
1. Install Apache
Installing Apache is very simple, just enter the following command in the terminal:
sudo yum install httpd
sudo means what to do with the root user, yum install means online installation; then enter yes to confirm the download and installation.
After the installation is complete, we need to start the service:
sudo service httpd start
After starting the server, don’t worry about it yet. You can directly enter the server’s IP address in the browser, and you should be able to see the Apache welcome page.
This page is used to test the operation of the Apache HTTP server after it has been installed………etc.
If your IP address has been bound to a domain name, you can also access it by entering your domain name in the browser. Isn’t it cool? It’s that simple. Let’s continue.
2. Install MySql
Install MySql and start MySql
sudo yum install mysql-server sudo service mysqld start
You can install and start mysql through the above command. When installing mysql, you will be asked for some simple configurations. Enter enter and yes and you will be fine.
3. Install PHP and related PHP components
Install PHP first
sudo yum install php php-mysql
Install PHP related components
yum install php-gd php-imap php-ldap php-odbc php-pear php-xml php-xmlrpc
I installed these components first for future use. If you want to know all PHP components, you can use the following command to search:
yum search php-
4. Apache and Mysql services are started by default when booting
Use the following command to choose to start Apache and Mysql at boot:
sudo chkconfig http on sudo chkconfig mysql on
5. Test whether PHP is installed successfully
Create an info.php file:
sudo vim /var/www/html/info.php
Then enter i to enter edit mode and write the following PHP command in the file:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>
Then press the esc key to enter the command mode, press the Shift key and the z key twice to exit the saved file.
Enter the IP address/info.php in the browser, for example: 123.56.183.34/info.php and press Enter to see the PHP information.
6. Download WordPress
You can go to https://wordpress.org/ official website to browse, or download through the following command:
wget http://cn.wordpress.org/wordpress-3.9-zh_CN.zip
7. Decompression
Use unzip to unzip the file:
unzip wordpress-3.8-zh_CN.zip
8. Create a new database in Mysql
mysql -u root -p
Enter the database through the above command, and then enter the password: password
Then create a database called wordpress
create database wordpress;
9. Modify the wp-content.php file
Modify the wp-content.php file as follows,
/** MySQL数据库名:wordpress */ define(‘DB_NAME', ‘wordpress'); /** MySQL数据库用户名 :root*/ define(‘DB_USER', ‘root'); /** MySQL数据库密码 :password*/ define(‘DB_PASSWORD', ‘password'); /** MySQL主机(不用修改) */ define(‘DB_HOST', ‘localhost');
10. Copy the file to the /var/www/html directory
cp -rf wordpress/* /var/www/html/
11. Test
Enter the server’s IP in the browser to view your homepage.

There are four ways to adjust the WordPress article list: use theme options, use plugins (such as Post Types Order, WP Post List, Boxy Stuff), use code (add settings in the functions.php file), or modify the WordPress database directly.

WordPress IP blocking plugin selection is crucial. The following types can be considered: based on .htaccess: efficient, but complex operation; database operation: flexible, but low efficiency; firewall: high security performance, but complex configuration; self-written: highest control, but requires more technical level.

The steps to create a custom header in WordPress are as follows: Edit the theme file "header.php". Add your website name and description. Create a navigation menu. Add a search bar. Save changes and view your custom header.

IIS and PHP are compatible and are implemented through FastCGI. 1.IIS forwards the .php file request to the FastCGI module through the configuration file. 2. The FastCGI module starts the PHP process to process requests to improve performance and stability. 3. In actual applications, you need to pay attention to configuration details, error debugging and performance optimization.

WordPress editing dates can be canceled in three ways: 1. Install the Enable Post Date Disable plug-in; 2. Add code in the functions.php file; 3. Manually edit the post_modified column in the wp_posts table.

A step-by-step guide to replacing a header image of WordPress: Log in to the WordPress dashboard and navigate to Appearance >Theme. Select the topic you want to edit and click Customize. Open the Theme Options panel and look for the Site Header or Header Image options. Click the Select Image button and upload a new head image. Crop the image and click Save and Crop. Click the Save and Publish button to update the changes.

WordPress Error Resolution Guide: 500 Internal Server Error: Disable the plug-in or check the server error log. 404 Page not found: Check permalink and make sure the page link is correct. White Screen of Death: Increase the server PHP memory limit. Database connection error: Check the database server status and WordPress configuration. Other tips: enable debug mode, check error logs, and seek support. Prevent errors: regularly update WordPress, install only necessary plugins, regularly back up your website, and optimize website performance.

To log in to a WordPress website account: Visit the login page: Enter the website URL plus "/wp-login.php". Enter your username and password. Click "Login". Verification Two-step Verification (optional). After successfully logging in, you will see the website dashboard.
