Finding Mephala's Shrine

Mephala's Shrine lies northeast of the Imperial City, south of the 'a' in 'Heartlands' within the forest. Be prepared to encounter leveled enemies in this area.

Completing the Mephala Quest

After meeting the prerequisites, interact with the shrine during the designated hours. Mephala will task you with manipulating two families in Bleaker's Way (northwest of the shrine) – the Dunmer Dalvilus and the Nord Ulfgars – into mutual destruction.

Identify the family leaders, Nivan Dalvilu and Hrol Ulfgar, through conversation. Your objective: kill them both and subtly frame them for each other's demise.

Retrieve the Dalvilu Ceremonial Dagger from Nivan's house and the Ulfgar Family Ring from Hrol's. (Note the amusingly preserved spelling error in the dagger's name!)

Acquiring the Ebony Blade

Return to Mephala's shrine after orchestrating the families' demise. Complete the quest by interacting with the shrine, and claim your reward: the Ebony Blade.

The Ebony Blade is a one-handed katana with a potent enchantment: a ten-second silence effect and eight points of health absorption on each hit.
