Starting the Quest

To begin this quest, you must first complete all previous Arcane University quests:

• The Mage's Staff
• Ulterior Motives
• Vahtacen's Secret
• Necromancer's Moon
• Liberation or Apprehension?

Once you've reached Warlock rank, speak with Archmage Traven at the Arcane University. He will task you with obtaining information from your old acquaintance, Count Janus of Skingrad.

Getting Information from Count Janus

Travel to Skingrad County Hall and speak with the Argonian, Hal-Liurz. She will inform the Count of your arrival. Wait patiently for the Count to descend and speak with you.

The Count will request that you deal with both vampires and vampire hunters. You have three options:

• Eliminate both groups.
• Aid the hunters in eliminating the vampires.
• Aid the vampires in eliminating the hunters.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

This quest has several known bugs:

Locating the Vampire Hunters

Eliminating or Assisting the Hunters and Vampires

To eliminate the hunters, ambush them at the lodge. Use spells like Frenzy, or poison their food.

To aid the hunters, inform Eridor of the vampires' location at Bloodcrust Cavern (east of Skingrad). Note that navigating to the cavern can be challenging due to the surrounding cliffs.

Completing the Quest

Once you've dealt with both factions, return to Count Janus. You may need to request Hal-Liurz's assistance again.

After receiving information about Mannimarco's return, report back to Archmage Traven. While you complete the quest, you receive no immediate reward and cannot advance with Raminus. You will need to wait several days before proceeding with the next quest. Consider completing any outstanding business with the Bruma Mages' Guild before moving on.
