Runescape: Dragonwilds - How To Get Bloodwood Sap

In Runescape: Dragonwilds, after completing initial combat and mechanic tutorials, you'll receive a quest from an old man to find Cathan. This leads you to Velgar's Lair, where you'll uncover a crucial piece of information and receive your next objective: challenging Velgar.

To prepare, you must craft the Challenge Horn, requiring Bloodwood Sap. Unlike other resources, this is found only in one specific location.

Locating Bloodwood Sap

Bloodwood Sap is located in the Bloodblight Swamp, east of Whispering Swamp, accessed via the Fractured Plains. The swamp is poisonous; prepare plenty of poison immunity potions. Expect level 3 enemies and a potential mini-boss, so equip bronze-tier or better gear.

Travel to the southern edge of the Bloodblight Swamp, near a building marked on the map. A further southern entrance, on the western side of the plains, is accessible roughly halfway through the swamp.

Cross the bridge to the building – be prepared for a significant enemy encounter. After defeating them, locate the large tree at the center; it contains Bloodwood Sap deposits. You'll need an Iron Logging Axe to harvest it. Some deposits are higher up, requiring you to climb the tree roots. You can obtain up to four saps, each occupying a separate inventory slot.

While the sap visually respawns, we've found it only harvestable once per location.

Once you've collected the Bloodwood Sap, create a Lodestone for easy return to your base and gather the remaining items for the Velgar encounter.
