How to use Oracle to connect to a database

Step 1: Get connection information

To connect to an Oracle database, you need the following information:

• Host name or IP address
• Port number (default is 1521)
• Service name or SID

Step 2: Connect with SQL*Net

Windows:

1. Open a command prompt or PowerShell.

2. Enter the following command, where:

Step 3: Verify the connection
