Embark on a thrilling side quest in Monster Hunter Wilds! This guide details the "Smithy's Seal of Quality" quest, one of many optional hunts available. While seemingly straightforward, this quest adds a unique twist.

This quest becomes available from Gemma after finishing Chapter 3 and completing her initial tasks. It's a stepping stone to unlocking more of her side quests.

Starting the Quest

Following your victory over Zoh Shia in Chapter 4, return to any base camp. Gemma will be there, ready to offer you the "Smithy's Seal of Quality" quest. Accepting this will trigger a notification prompting you to accept the optional hunt.

Next, speak with Alma. In your Optional Quests menu, you'll find the new quest listed with Gemma as the client. This hunt targets the Lala Barina. With the quest accepted, Gemma will join your hunting party.

Completing the Quest

Travel to the Scarlet Forest. Gemma will be positioned near the Lala Barina's lair. As the battle begins, Gemma will instruct you to lure the Lala Barina towards her.

However, the Lala Barina may be engaged with Conchas. These smaller ape-like creatures can hinder your efforts. It's best to eliminate them first, or strategically use Dung Slingshots to drive them away.

Once the Lala Barina is isolated, lure it to Gemma. She'll activate a trap, temporarily restraining the monster. At this point, Gemma will withdraw, leaving you to finish the hunt solo.

After defeating the Lala Barina, return to the base camp and speak with Gemma to complete the quest. This unlocks Gemma as a Hunting Assistant, providing valuable support on future hunts.
