Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Blood Of Arlathan Walkthrough
Throughout the main story of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you'll come in contact with two powerful elven gods: Ghilan'nain and Elgar'nan, who are determined to blight the world at any cost. While your early battles against Ghilan'nain are epic moments with plenty of explosions and action, Blood of Arlathan requires you to use your cunning and ingenuity to catch the enemy off guard.
However, this operation isn't an attack, but a rescue, as you must infiltrate a Venatori camp and release some captured Dalish prisoners. Getting into the camp is simple enough, but you'll need a bit of cunning if you want to make it out of there with the Dalish prisoners and your lives intact.
How To Save The Dalish
The Venatori have been a nuisance since the early portion of Rook's journey, and they're back as you travel to their camp in Arlathan Crater during the Blood Of Arlathan quest.
Feel free to bring your favorite companion duo for this mission, but prepare to face enemies who are weak to Cold and Fire.
Once you're wearing the disguises provided by Irelin and Strife, you can infiltrate the Venatori camp by progressing from the Forest Overlook by taking the zipline to the Temple of the Sun.
Sneak past the Venatori while they perform a sacrifice here, then follow your marker until you're stopped by a Venatori guard.
After a brief conversation, continue following the path until you trigger and witness a cutscene featuring Elgar'nan and his Archdemon.
Once the interlude is over, run through the Ruined Aqueduct as quickly as possible; the Venatori are now alerted to your presence.
Fight the Venatori here (weak to Cold, resist Fire) and follow the path southwest where you'll fight another group.
Once the Venatori go down, go up the hill to the Temple Gardens where another Venatori ambush awaits.
Brush them to the side as quickly as possible, then go north through the area where you'll encounter yet another ambush – this time, darkspawn are waiting.
Now that the area is cleared, you'll see a Venatori crystal puzzle, with the first crystal you need to destroy behind a blue barrier.
Go up the stairs and around to the roof of the enclosure, then drop into the barrier room through a hole in the roof and destroy the crystal.
Pick up the triangular Dalish artifact to deactivate the barrier, then bring this artifact to the receptacle on the north side of the room and enter the door it unlocks to break another crystal.
Defeat the darkspawn enemies, then head back up the ladder to the Venatori barrier and break the crystal on the right, then destroy the floating one, and another crystal through a crack in the wall, adjacent to a shielded crystal.
Break the remaining crystals in front of the door and head through the archway until you reach the Court Of Tribute.
How To Defeat The Blood Forge
Attempt to exit the area, but you'll be trapped by the gate and forced to fend off more Venatori after the initial wave.
Be sure to destroy the crystals that can generate barrier shields on the Venatori here, or you will not be able to damage them.
Once two waves are defeated, the Blood Forge (weak to Cold, resists Fire) will activate and join the fray.
This Physical Imbued enemy should hit hard but go down relatively quickly, especially if you brought Neve along with you.
Once the Blood Forge goes down, head through the gate to the Sanctum Halls and into Elgar'nan's trap.
After a few attempts to escape that are all doomed to fail, you'll encounter an Alpha Emissary (weak to Fire, resists Necrotic) to defeat, which isn't difficult to deal with if you strike at its weakness.
Try to escape again, until you hear Solas call out and initiate a conversation.
After the dialogue, follow your marker forward and destroy the Blight Boils to open a door and get the Dalish artifact needed to create a bridge across the gap.
Destroy more Blight Boils here along with a group of darkspawn, then clear the path to the exit door, where you'll return to the Temple Library.
Pass through the door and fight the Venatori in the next room, then destroy floating crystals to clear the barriers.
Defeat more Venatori, then break the final round of crystals to lower the barriers blocking your path and free the Dalish prisoners.
What Rewards Do You Get From Blood Of Arlathan?
With the prisoners freed, you'll complete Blood Of Arlathan and receive the following rewards:
- 6,250 XP
- Increased bonds with all companions
- 250 Veil Jumpers Strength
- Appearance items
This will conclude part ten and begin Words Of The Wolf.
