According to reports, victims lost around $1 million in various wrapped ETH tokens, including swETH, mETH, and eETH. One victim reportedly lost $800,000 in mETH after unknowingly signing a phishing permit.

EigenLayer responded quickly to the breach, starting containment efforts within 20 minutes of detecting the compromise. They engaged security consultants and managed to secure the account by 11:00am ET the same day.
EigenLayer assured its community that an extensive internal investigation found no evidence of breaches across their systems or user data. They highlighted robust security measures, such as passkey 2FA and delegated access controls, which showed no signs of compromise.

In a separate development, EmberCN reported a significant investment in EigenLayer's native token, $EIGEN, by a whale or institution. This entity invested $32.45 million in USDC to acquire 8.917 million $EIGEN tokens between October 3 and October 15, at an average price of $3.64 per token.
