Xiaomi launches new smart lamp with light and presence sensors
The Xiaomi Mijia Desktop Study Lamp Pro is now crowdfunding in China. The company suggests that its new smart home device uses 120 full spectrum LEDs to mimic natural light, with a Ra97 color rendering index rating.
The Mijia Desktop Study Lamp Pro’s LEDs are covered by a lens to disperse and soften the light. Xiaomi suggests that the model is suitable for desk spaces up to 1.2 m (~3.9 ft) long, covering an area of 500 x 300 mm (~19.7 x 11.8 inches) or 700 x 500 mm (~27.6 x 19.7 inches) with light. The light color temperature is adjustable up to 4,000K, and the lamp’s peak brightness is said to be 1,900 lux. The lamp offers smart dimming, adjusting the brightness based on the level of natural light. Plus, a radar sensor can detect your presence and automatically turn the light on or off accordingly. With HyperOS Connect and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, you can control the smart lamp via the Mijia app or Xiao AI voice commands. Alternatively, you can use the integrated touch dial to control the light.
The lamp is 470mm tall, and you can adjust its position in various places to suit your needs. The Xiaomi Mijia Desktop Study Lamp Pro crowdfunding campaign pledge level is 469 yuan (~$66) in China; the product is expected to retail for 499 yuan (~$70). Whether or when the model could launch in the EU, where Xiaomi already sells theMi Smart LED Desk Lamp, remains to be seen.
