Microsoft has reintroduced a new taskbar overflow experience in Windows 11. When an application icon takes up the maximum space on the taskbar, a menu with a 3-dot icon automatically appears.

You may also notice a vertical line next to overflow, indicating that too many applications are displayed in the taskbar at once. The down arrow icon next to the vertical line shows recently used system tray applications that do not appear in the tray.
