Obscura 3 camera app brings improved interface and new shooting modes
Obscura is one of the most popular professional camera apps for iOS because it supports a variety of manual controls for taking photos on iPhone. Developer Ben McCarthy released Obscura 3 this week, which comes with an improved interface, a new capture mode, and other new features. 
To make the app feel more modern, the controls have been redesigned and are now controlled entirely by gestures and haptic feedback. Unfortunately for fans of the classic Obscura design, this means the classic "control wheel" is no more. "This is the closest feeling you'll get to using a DSLR camera on a smartphone," the developers said.
Obscura 3 also introduces new shooting modes to better reflect all the capabilities of the iPhone camera. There are five different modes for different purposes: Photo, Pro Photo, Depth, Live Photo, and Video.
For those who want to get more creative with their photos, the app now allows users to choose between different aspect ratios – they are 4:3, 16:9, 2:1 and square . When shooting in RAW format, Obscura now saves the cropped image and the original image in separate files, so you don't lose the option to recompose your shot.
Other new features include advanced white balance adjustments, manual exposure, focus peaking and different format options.
