This article mainly introduces relevant information on thread safety issues in Java singleton mode. I hope that through this article, everyone can understand and master the use of thread safety in singleton mode. Friends in need can refer to it

Java singleton mode thread safety issues

The default access scope of the bean provided by the SpringIOC container is singleton mode. That is, there is only one instance in the entire application life cycle. Therefore, under multi-thread concurrency, there will be thread safety risks. Our servlets under the MVC framework are thread-safe. Since the servlet is on the client side, there is relatively little concurrency, but for the web service side, it needs to be taken into consideration.

ThreadLocal class: Provides an independent copy of the variable (instance) for each thread, and accesses isolation from each different instance.
In the synchronization lock mechanism, the latecomer thread waits for the preceding thread to complete before it can access the member variable. ThreadLocal implements instance replication and isolates object access data conflicts. At the same time, it can also solve a small amount of the consumption and burden of life cycle management of a large number of instances in the prototype access mode. They are two realizations of "exchanging time for space" and "exchanging space for time". The former only provides a unique variable for different threads to queue for access, while the latter provides a copy for each thread, so it can be accessed at the same time without affecting each other. At the same time, the copy is stored in the memory and will not be accessed again next time. Regenerate the instance to reduce server resource consumption.

We know that in general, only stateless beans can be shared in a multi-threaded environment. In Spring, most beans can be declared as singleton scope. It is because Spring uses ThreadLocal to process non-thread-safe states in some beans (such as RequestContextHolder, TransactionSynchronizationManager, LocaleContextHolder, etc.), making them thread-safe, because stateful beans can be shared among multiple threads.

Thread safety issues: caused by global variables and static variables. If there are only read operations and no write operations on global variables and static variables in each thread, generally speaking, this global variable is thread safe; If multiple threads perform write operations at the same time, thread synchronization generally needs to be considered, otherwise thread safety may be affected.

1) Constants are always thread-safe (constant value)
2) Creating a new instance before each method call is thread-safe. (Different instances are isolated from each other)
3) Local variables are thread-safe (isolated)

Because every time a method is executed, local variables will be created in an independent space, and it is not a shared resource. Local variables include method parameter variables and method-internal variables.

Stateful: Has data storage and change functions. Stateful Bean, an object with instance variables, can save data and is not thread-safe.

Stateless: It is a one-time operation and cannot change the data. Stateless object (Stateless Bean), an object without instance variables, cannot save data, is an immutable class, and is thread-safe. In spring, the singleton mode is a shared instance to improve performance. Stateful beans are not safe in a multi-threaded environment, so the Prototype prototype mode is suitable. Prototype: Each request for a bean creates a new bean instance.

Break or return from Java 8 stream forEach? Break or return from Java 8 stream forEach? Feb 07, 2025 pm 12:09 PM

Java 8 introduces the Stream API, providing a powerful and expressive way to process data collections. However, a common question when using Stream is: How to break or return from a forEach operation? Traditional loops allow for early interruption or return, but Stream's forEach method does not directly support this method. This article will explain the reasons and explore alternative methods for implementing premature termination in Stream processing systems. Further reading: Java Stream API improvements Understand Stream forEach The forEach method is a terminal operation that performs one operation on each element in the Stream. Its design intention is

PHP: A Key Language for Web Development PHP: A Key Language for Web Development Apr 13, 2025 am 12:08 AM

PHP is a scripting language widely used on the server side, especially suitable for web development. 1.PHP can embed HTML, process HTTP requests and responses, and supports a variety of databases. 2.PHP is used to generate dynamic web content, process form data, access databases, etc., with strong community support and open source resources. 3. PHP is an interpreted language, and the execution process includes lexical analysis, grammatical analysis, compilation and execution. 4.PHP can be combined with MySQL for advanced applications such as user registration systems. 5. When debugging PHP, you can use functions such as error_reporting() and var_dump(). 6. Optimize PHP code to use caching mechanisms, optimize database queries and use built-in functions. 7

PHP and Python each have their own advantages, and the choice should be based on project requirements. 1.PHP is suitable for web development, with simple syntax and high execution efficiency. 2. Python is suitable for data science and machine learning, with concise syntax and rich libraries.

PHP vs. Other Languages: A Comparison PHP vs. Other Languages: A Comparison Apr 13, 2025 am 12:19 AM

PHP is suitable for web development, especially in rapid development and processing dynamic content, but is not good at data science and enterprise-level applications. Compared with Python, PHP has more advantages in web development, but is not as good as Python in the field of data science; compared with Java, PHP performs worse in enterprise-level applications, but is more flexible in web development; compared with JavaScript, PHP is more concise in back-end development, but is not as good as JavaScript in front-end development.

Python is suitable for data science and machine learning, with concise syntax and a powerful standard library. When choosing, it should be decided based on project requirements.

Java Program to Find the Volume of Capsule Java Program to Find the Volume of Capsule Feb 07, 2025 am 11:37 AM

Capsules are three-dimensional geometric figures, composed of a cylinder and a hemisphere at both ends. The volume of the capsule can be calculated by adding the volume of the cylinder and the volume of the hemisphere at both ends. This tutorial will discuss how to calculate the volume of a given capsule in Java using different methods. Capsule volume formula The formula for capsule volume is as follows: Capsule volume = Cylindrical volume Volume Two hemisphere volume in, r: The radius of the hemisphere. h: The height of the cylinder (excluding the hemisphere). Example 1 enter Radius = 5 units Height = 10 units Output Volume = 1570.8 cubic units explain Calculate volume using formula: Volume = π × r2 × h (4
