甲骨文与Zend将宣布合作 联手加强PHP开发
新浪科技讯 美国东部时间5月14日(北京时间5月15日)消息，甲骨文公司与PHP工具开发商Zend科技公司将于5月16日宣布两家的合作计划。双方将联手加强开放源代码PHP的开发工作。双方的合作将在甲骨文数据库的基础上进行，并通过一种免费的软件工具Zend Core来实现。
今年第三季度，Zend Core软件将使甲骨文数据库和Zend的PHP环境获得融合。届时，用户可以通过甲骨文技术网获得这种软件产品，但是Zend将出售一些与此相关的支持性服务。目前，PHP对于用户来说，是一种相对于Java和微软.Net的另外一个可选择性语言。PHP也可以在一种混合应用软件环境中使用，还是正在兴起的开放源代码软件阵营中的一个重要成员。
据Zend公司副总裁帕梅拉-罗索斯(Pamela Roussos)称，Zend Core的主要功能是使用户在甲骨文数据库基础上进行PHP开发的工作变得更加有效率。而在以前，这是一种非常复杂的工作。罗索斯表示：“这种工作非常耗时间、单调乏味，同时很容易出现错误。我们现在所做的事情就是要使这种工作变得更容易，也更有效率。”Zend Core软件包可以使PHP应用软件在几分钟内，与甲骨文数据库同时起动并共同运行。
业内一位高级分析家斯蒂芬-奥格莱迪(Stephen O'Grady)称，Zend公司与甲骨文现在建立的关系，同以前与IBM公司之间建立关系的情况有些类似。他说：“我认为，Zend公司此举是其发展战略的一种延续。”IBM与Zend公司在今年二月份宣布了一个合作项目，为Zend的PHP环境与IBM的Cloudscape和DB2通用数据库平台之间建立了一种融合关系。
