Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Something Rotten... Walkthrough
Something Rotten… is a side task in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Something Rotten… side task.
- Starting Location: Kuttenberg Region > Grund
- Quest Giver: Innkeeper Grosch
- Requirement: Complete Main Quest 14: Speak of the Devil
- Reward: 150 x Groschen
- Quest Type: Task
- Questline: Arrow-head > The Magic Arrow > Something Rotten
- Quest Description: Innkeeper Grosch from Grund has trouble with a gang that comes to his inn and makes a mess. They’re led by a man called Eggman, and the innkeeper has it in for him.
Objectives:
- Kill Eggman
- Get a proof that Eggman is dead
- Go back to Innkeeper Grosch
Starting Location: Something Rotten…
To start this quest, speak with Innkeeper Grosch in Grund and ask how goes it. This may require completing some prerequisite quests (likely side quest The Magic Arrow and possibly task Damsel in Distress).
Kill Eggman
The Innkeeper wants your help dealing with a group of bandits who are bothering the town. If you have completed The Magic Arrow already then Henry comments on this seemingly being the band you helped during that quest. They are located at the Enemy Camp POI north of Grund.
You have two options for how to deal with them: fighting them outright or using the poison that the innkeeper has given you. If you want to fight them straight up make sure you are prepared with full armor and any supplies you need, as there are 7 enemies and they are all heavily armored.
If you want to take the sneaky route then you will want to wait until nighttime and put on stealthy clothing. Watch out for the couple guards that may be awake and sneak to the cooking pot in the center of the camp. Hold to interact with it use the Strong Bane Poison.
Leave the camp area and then wait until morning, where Eggman should die from eating the food. If it doesn’t happen after the first wait, then wait another hour or two and the objective should update.
Get a proof that Eggman is dead
You’ll then need to enter the camp and grab proof from Eggman’s body that he is dead. Be careful entering as not everyone may have died from the poisoned food, so be sure to switch to your normal combat gear in case you need to clean up any left.
Find Eggman wherever he has fallen, and loot the Eggman’s hat item from him.
Go back to Innkeeper Grosch
Make sure to loot the camp before you leave, then you can head back to Grosch to complete the task.
This finishes Something Rotten… side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
