NYT 'Connections' Hints And Answers For Sunday, May 11th
Forbes/NYT “Connections” Saturday, May 10th Tips and Answers
Author: Paul Tassi
Dear "Connections" game enthusiasts, welcome to the NYT Connections weekend version! I am your Sunday host Erik Kain, and I wish all Mother's Day a Happy Mother's Day! My mother is the same, happy holiday, mom, if you see this article. Even if you don't see it, it doesn't matter.
Today is Mother's Day and I believe most of you are busy preparing brunch, afternoon tea or other similar activities, so I'll briefly introduce it. Before entering today's Connections, I will give you a poem first. This is Sylvia Plath's Morning Song, one of my favorite poets.
OK, let's solve this Connections puzzle.
How to play Connections
Connections is the second most popular NYT game puzzle game after major crossword puzzles, a very fun and free game that will make you think about every day. Click here to start the game.
The goal of the game is to find out the connection between four groups of four words from 16 words. They may be specific term categories or small text puzzles that require you to find out the relationship between words before and after. The difficulty will become increasingly greater.
There is only one correct answer, you only have a limited number of attempts, so you can't try it casually until you find the answer. The difficulty level is color-coded, usually from yellow, blue/green to purple, and the difficulty increases in sequence, so be aware of this when starting to connect words.
You select four words you think are related, and if it is correct, a lighted line will appear, showing your connection method. If you get close to the correct answer, it will tell you that only one is missing. Similarly, you will lose by making four mistakes, but if you want to know the answer without fail, you can check it here, or delete your web cookie and try again. If you want to play more puzzles, you can subscribe to NYT Games to access the full archive of all past puzzles.

What is the Connections grouping today?
OK, next is the complete spoiler , we will introduce today’s grouping content:
- ?Yellow Group – Make Happy
- ?Blue Group – Common Video Game Features
- ?Green Group – Dodge
- ?Purple Group – Mother…
What is the answer to Connections today?
Here is the complete answer for each grouping, ending with four words in each category. If you don't want to see the answer, please don't look down . Connections answers are as follows:
- ?Yellow Group – Delight, Please, Suit, Tickle (Happy, Please, Suit, Tickle)
- ?Blue Group – Boss, Health, Level, Power-Up (Boss, Health, Level, Enhancement Props)
- ?Green Group – Dodge, Duck, Shake, Skirt (Does, Dodge, Get rid of, bypass)
- ?Purple Group – Earth, Goose, May I, Superior (Earth, Goose, Can I, Advanced)
I first figured out the green word today. These words are obviously all about hiding. Dodge, hide, get rid of opponents, and avoid danger. However, I made a mistake in the yellow words because "suit" (fits) distracted me. Although “delight”, “tickle” and “please” all indicate pleasant influence of someone, “suit” feels a bit ordinary. "That suits you" (this suits you) People might say that, but it's not the same as "tickle".
The blue word is also quite obvious because of the word “power-up”, which is very, very video games. You will also upgrade or pass the level in the game, and you will also have health points, which will often be reduced in boss battles at the end of the level. To defeat the Boss and reduce his health, having the enhancement props will help.
The rest are purple words, which is usually the case. I didn't see the connection until the answer was in front of me. Mother Goose, Mother Earth, Mother May I? (Can I?), Mother Superior (female dean).
