Vampiric Perks and Abilities
Failing to cure Porphyric Hemophilia within 72 hours and a rest results in permanent vampirism. This condition progresses through four stages, each enhancing attributes (Strength, Willpower, and Speed), skills (Acrobatics, Athletics, Destruction, Hand to Hand, Illusion, Mysticism, Sneak), and granting unique abilities. All stages provide 100% Disease and Paralysis Resistance. However, fire weakness and sun damage intensify with each stage. Stage 4 also leads to social isolation, impacting quest availability.

Becoming a Vampire
Contracting Porphyric Hemophilia from a vampire, followed by three days and three rests, triggers vampirism.

- Rest after 72 hours – first dream.
- Rest again after 24 hours – second dream.
- Rest again after 24 hours – third dream, full vampirism.
Curing Porphyric Hemophilia before step 2 prevents vampirism. However, re-infection restarts the process (unless previously cured of full vampirism).
Contracting Porphyric Hemophilia:
- Vampire attack. (Barren Cave is a good starting point.)
- Complete Vicente Valiteri's contracts in the Dark Brotherhood questline.
- (Mehrunes' Razor DLC) Consume Msirae Faythung's heart (or create a potion).
Preventing Vampirism
Cure Porphyric Hemophilia within 72 hours using:
- Chapel prayer.
- Mandrake Root or Shepherd's Pie.
- "Cure Disease" spell or potion.
A full Fatigue bar indicates a cure.
Curing Vampirism
Cure vampirism via the "Vampire Cure" quest or the Font of Renewal (Deepscorn Hollow, Vile Lair DLC – included in the Remaster).

- Locate Deepscorn Hollow (southeast of Leyawiin).
- Gather Purgeblood Salts.
- Interact with the Font.
