Apple launches iOS 17.7.1 and iPadOS 17.7.1 updates for iPhone and iPad users who are still using iOS 17 systems (iOS 18 and above already include Apple Intelligence features and can be used in iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1).
This software update contains important security fixes and is highly recommended if you are still using previous major iOS/iPadOS versions. This update does not contain any new features.
iOS 17.7.1 and iPadOS 17.7.1 compatible models include: iPhone XS and subsequent models, 13-inch iPad Pro, 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd and subsequent models), 10.5-inch iPad Pro, 11-inch iPad Pro (1st and subsequent models), iPad Air (3rd and subsequent models), iPad (6th and subsequent models), and iPad mini (5th and subsequent models).
In addition, iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, macOS Sequoia 15.1, macOS Sonoma 14.7.1, macOS Ventura 13.7.1, tvOS 18.1, watchOS 11.1 and visionOS 2.1 have also been released.
How to update to iOS 17.7.1 and iPadOS 17.7.1
Be sure to back up your iPhone or iPad data to iCloud and/or your computer before installing a software update.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to General and select Software Update.
- When you see iOS 17.7.1 or iPadOS 17.7.1 is available, select Update Now.
The device will restart as usual to complete the installation.
You can also manually update the device using a computer or IPSW firmware file.
