Brave Search Rerank lets you boost or remove sites from search results
Brave Search introduces Rerank feature to let you customize search results! All users can now use the Rerank feature to "promote" (promote ranking) or "remove" (remove) the websites in the search results (remove ranking) or "remove" (remove from the results).
How it works: When Brave searches, a Rerank panel is displayed. Users can like or click on any website in the search results.
Likes will improve the website ranking, and clicking will prevent the website from displaying. You can undo the like or click the action at any time.
It will not affect the algorithm ranking: Brave official said:
- “Using Rerank does not change the domain name presence or ranking for other users or the entire Brave Search – Rerank is only available to users who choose to use this feature and is only effective on their users’ devices.”
Interface display: The following is a screenshot of Brave's Rerank function:
Important: This will not affect your SEO strategy. However, this is a nice feature that enables Brave users to personalize search results to their preferences and remove any websites that are considered unreliable or low-quality.
Announcement: Launching Rerank: A Quick and Easy Way to Customize Brave Search Ranking
Similar to older Google features: Google launched similar features between 2011 and 2012, allowing users to hide or block certain websites from appearing in search results. Google said it was launched because they believed that “giving you control over search results will provide a more personalized and enjoyable Google experience.”
Learn more: See "New Features: Google Allows You to Block Any Websites in Search Results" and "Google Finally Stops Blocked Websites Features".
Data: Brave reported that its daily search volume has reached 38 million times and more than 1.2 billion times per month.

AI search engines contribute little to publishers' traffic, which in turn has intensified web crawling behavior. This is an important finding in the recent report of TollBit, a content monetization platform. Click-through rate comparison: The report shows that the average click-through rate of Google search is 8.63%. However, the click-through rate of AI search engines is only 0.74%, while the click-through rate of AI chatbots is even lower, only 0.33%. This means that AI search brings a 91% reduction in recommended traffic than traditional searches, while chatbots bring a 96% reduction in traffic. Important: This is bad news for publishers because it shows that AI search does not replace traditional search traffic. This trend is expected to continue as AI-generated answers replace direct access to the website. number
