Accessible after acquiring Esquie's flight ability (near the end of Act III, following the major story reveal about Maelle), The Canvas is located southwest of the Monolith (where The Paintress was found). This visually stunning island features swirling painted tornadoes, unfinished human figures, and a breathtaking backdrop. The key item here is Renoir’s family portrait. Removing it from its frame yields the Manor Family Canvas, a portrait of the Dessendre family.

Solving the Family Portrait Puzzle

The solution lies in the portrait's name: the Manor Family Canvas. Return to the Manor (accessible south of The Forgotten Battlefield or via the back entrance in Old Luminere's garden). Locate the empty frame on the upper right side of the main hall's staircase. Placing the portrait in this frame unlocks the atelier, a previously inaccessible room. Inside, you'll find a journal offering further insight into the game's lore, and a new outfit for Maelle.
