Today's 'Wordle' #1412 Hints, Clues And Answer For Thursday, May 1st
Daily Wordle tips, clues and answers are all here!
Today is Labor Day and Wednesday. April has passed and May has arrived. Yesterday was Wordle Wednesday and I gave you an extra brain teaser. There are not many people submitting the answer, so congratulations to those who solve the puzzle. The puzzle is as follows:
There are three boxes, one of which contains gemstones. At least one box has a statement that is correct, and at least one box has a statement that is wrong. The three boxes are black, white and blue. The black box reads "White box contains gems". The white box reads "Only one box contains gems". The blue box says “Only one statement on the box is correct”. Which box is the gem in?
Answer: White box.
I got this puzzle from the new video game Blue Prince, one of my favorite games of the year. It is a pleasant and extremely challenging puzzle game. You play the heir to a large estate, with the mission to find the mysterious 46th room. Every day, you enter the estate and “design” new rooms, each with its own door, treasure and legend, and try to draw a ever-changing estate map while searching for special items and solving puzzles. Every day, you start with a blank piece of paper, although there are some permanent unlocking content to be found. It's truly amazing and engaging, and maybe the best puzzle game I've ever played since Mysterious Island.
Anyway, let's solve today's Wordle!

Wordle Analysis
I check Wordle Bot every day to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot here.
CLOUT is a pretty good start guess with only 101 words and a green "T" left. I chose to use SPARE all the new letters and I got three yellow squares. At this time, I can only think of one word, although it turns out that EXPAT can do it too. Thankfully, I only thought of ADEPT, that's Wordle!
Competitive Wordle scores
I guessed three words correctly and scored 1 point, and scored 0 points with Bot. Bot has the same score. We started with a draw in May (it was fun because we ended with a draw in April too!)
Erik: 1 point
Wordle Bot: 1 point
How to Play Competitive Wordle
- 3 points if you guess correctly; 2 points if you guess correctly; 1 point if you guess correctly; 0 points if you guess correctly; 5 guess correctly; 2 points if you guess correctly; 2 points if you guess correctly; 3 points if you guess wrong.
- If you beat your opponent, you get 1 point. If you tie, you will get 0 points. If you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add them up to get your score. Keep running scores daily, or just play a new score every day. Enjoy it!
- Friday is 2XP, which means your score (positive or negative) doubles.
- You can keep a run total, or just play every day. Enjoy it!
Wordle etymology today
The word “apept” comes from the Latin adeptus , which is a past participle of apisci , meaning “get” or “realization.” It initially refers to those who have acquired knowledge or mastered skills, especially in alchemy or mysterious art, after which its meaning gradually expands.
