Cook Up Your Own Custom Emoji Stickers with Gboard for Android
Unlock the Fun of Emoji Kitchen: Create Custom Stickers with Gboard on Android!
Emoji and stickers add personality to your messages, and Android users with Gboard have a secret weapon: Emoji Kitchen. This feature lets you combine two emojis to create unique stickers. While available on iOS, Emoji Kitchen's full potential is unleashed on Android.
Step 1: Ensure Emoji Kitchen is Enabled
Emoji Kitchen is usually enabled by default, but if not, here's how to reactivate it:
- Quick Access: Long-press the comma key on your Gboard keyboard, tap the settings icon, and release.
- Manual Access: Navigate to Gboard's settings (the path varies by device; examples include Settings > System > Languages & input > On-screen keyboard > Gboard on Pixel phones, or Settings > General management > Gboard settings on Samsung Galaxy devices). Select "Emojis, Stickers & GIFs," then make sure "Emoji Stickers" is toggled on.
Step 2: Accessing the Emoji Kitchen
Open your emoji keyboard (usually by tapping the emoji key next to the spacebar, or by long-pressing the comma key and selecting the emoji icon).
Step 3: Creating Your Emoji Masterpieces
You'll see a space for recent stickers. To create a new one:
- Tap an emoji. Gboard will suggest sticker combinations using that emoji.
- If you don't see what you like, tap another emoji to try a different combination. A beaker animation indicates Gboard is working its magic. A ghost icon means no combination is available.
- Once you find a sticker you love, tap it to add it to your message.
You can also find suggested stickers within Gboard's suggestions strip if you've enabled "Stickers" under "Suggestions while typing" in the Emojis, Stickers & GIFs settings.
Start experimenting and create your own unique emoji stickers!
