So, the latest BSV hackathon held here last weekend attracted a lot of BSV developers, entrepreneurs and blockchain enthusiasts, which couldn’t be more appropriate.

On Friday, my partner Carl and I arrived and headed straight to Gorillapool Mobile Headquarters, where Luke Rohanaz and David Case were waiting for a visit to the “root” permission.

We meet with many familiar faces: Freddy from Elas, the experienced developer of Colin, Brett Banfe, Amy Frivandary and Rafael Laverde, and more. After settling, we headed to Terry Black's BBQ, which was simply meat paradise, and was full of portions to feed an army. After that, we participated in a beach volleyball game, felt the vitality of Austin, and watched the Gorillapool team build amazing technology: an on-chain DNS domain name based on the 1SAT Ordinals protocol (a fully decentralized Paymail system) that maps directly to the user identity.

We started our day Saturday morning with Texas sake, a vibrant community with cafes, burrito stands, bars and tattoo artist studios. I thought it would be a small party, with several developers typing codes on the folding chair. However, the scene was full: 13 teams and dozens of developers were full of creativity.

I provided logistical support to the Gorillapool team while being a live media host for Coingeek (translation: provide food, coffee and spiritual support), while Luke and David were fully engaged in development. Unofficial "wizard" Ty Everett directed the room, and each participating team used his custom Bitcoin development tool kit, Babbage Stack. The developers work all night long.

One surprise is that MNEE, a stablecoin designed for real-world applications, has received widespread praise. It was used by about half of the projects, and the MNEE team even sent representatives to the site to provide technical support, indicating that the potential of the protocol cannot be underestimated.

The day turned into night, some people seized the time to rest, while others continued to encode amid the light of the computer screen and the team's heated discussion.

On Sunday morning, the atmosphere was tense. 11 a.m. is the deadline. The team raced against time to perfect the demonstration, fix bugs, and prepare for the final sprint. Then there is the display time.

As one team said, they coded for 36 hours in a row, supported by coffee and ramen. This shows pure enthusiasm and determination, and reflects the essence of the American and Texas hacking spirit.
