'A Minecraft Movie': Theater Chain Announces 'Chicken Jockey' Screenings
Reports from theaters across the country after A Minecraft Movie opened on April 4 noted that a TikTok video craze was wreaking havoc in some theaters during a particular scene in A Minecraft Movie — the big screen adaptation of the blockbuster Mojang Studios Minecraft video game.
Forbes‘The Last Of Us’ Season 2: Why Does Abby Look So Familiar?By Tim LammersThe movie is set largely in the Overworld, where Steve (Jack Black) discovers he can build anything he imagines out of blocks in the fantastical environment, which is inhabited by block-shaped creatures.
After discovering the same portal that enabled Steve to enter the Overworld, a group of misfits — Garrett (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks) — enter the environs and attempt to rescue Steve from the nefarious Piglins.
However, it’s a scene that involves a couple of other block-shaped creatures — a zombie and a chicken — that has audiences going wild. Dubbed the “Chicken Jockey” scene, the segment, as evidenced in a video posted on X, shows theatergoers standing up, screaming and throwing popcorn and concessions everywhere. To top it all off, a patron is caught on camera hoisting a live chicken in the air.

The theater chain announced on social media that the special screenings will take place on Sunday, April 20.
“Level up your experience of A Minecraft Movie with our Chicken Jockey Screening exclusively in 4DX. Dress up as your favorite Minecraft characters, whoop, yelp, clap and shout,” Regal noted in the X post below.
