Magic: The Gathering - Deadpool, Trading Card Commander Deck Guide
The Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool, breaks the fourth wall—and the multiverse! He's invaded the world of Magic: The Gathering, and he's ready to claim the fourth seat in your Commander game. Prepare for mayhem!
Deadpool brings his signature humor (and a silver-bordered reprint) to the table, along with a unique ability: swapping his text box with other creatures. This lets you steal powerful effects or frustrating stax pieces, but with the right cards, you can make everything Deadpool.

The Commander
Deadpool's MTG debut, "Deadpool, Trading Card," is a 5/3 Mutant Mercenary Hero. His red/black color identity reflects his iconic costume, and he costs {1}{R}{B}{2}.
Deadpool's drawback: you lose 3 life each upkeep while he's in play. Sacrificing him costs {3} and gives each opponent a card.
The upside? You can swap his text box with another creature's, effectively stealing their creature while saddling an opponent with Deadpool's life drain.
Deckbuilding
Deadpool, Trading Card excels at stealing combat tricks, draw engines, ramp, and combo pieces, but he's a single card. To overcome this, we create an army of disposable Deadpools. The deck focuses on copying and cloning creatures to maximize stolen effects and overwhelm opponents with life-draining Deadpools.
Since Deadpool is legendary, the deck includes ways to circumvent the legendary rule or create nonlegendary copies.
Don't rely solely on your commander. Opponents can remove him. The deck's strategy extends beyond Deadpool himself.
The deck utilizes creatures with Myriad to create additional board presence and further exploit the copying strategy.
Ramp
The deck features a standard mana rock package (Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, and a third two-mana artifact) sufficient for its low-cost spells and synergy with Deadpool.
Card Draw
Card draw is strategically integrated through Deadpool's ability; opponents must choose between life loss or providing card draw.
A Myriad of Deadpools
The deck leverages Blade of Selves and Helm of the Host to create multiple Deadpools, maximizing the stolen effects and life drain.
Clone Degeneration Prevention
The Master, Multiplied and Mirror Box mitigate the "legend rule" and prevent the premature demise of cloned Deadpools.
Deck Tech
The deck utilizes Forbidden Orchard to create 1/1 Spirits for Deadpool's life drain. Worldgorger Dragon creates an infinite loop with Animate Dead for overwhelming mana generation and opponent control. Aggravated Assault provides aggressive, potentially infinite combat steps.
