The goal is to generate a ThemeName
type that contains exactly all loaded topic names, such as 'gray' | 'slate'
. Neither as const
nor auxiliary type inference will take effect at compile time, because the result of import.meta.glob
can be determined only at runtime. TypeScript's type inference occurs at compile time and runtime data cannot be accessed.
The problem is that TypeScript's type system cannot directly access dynamic data generated at runtime. modules
object is unknown at compile time, and its contents can only be determined at runtime. Therefore, it is not feasible to infer ThemeName
type at compile time. The workaround needs to consider taking the topic name at runtime and passing it to TypeScript, but this is beyond TypeScript's compile-time type checking capabilities. Therefore, using any
type or type checking at runtime is a more practical solution.
