Lethal Company's guide to exploring the moon: Embrion and Artifice

There are many secrets hidden in the game Lethal Company, waiting for careful players to explore. The most interesting of these are the hidden moons, which are not listed on the computer, but just enter the names of these secret destinations and you can go. This guide will explain how to get to these moons, and how you’re expected to discover, and whether it’s worth risking these places if you’re just looting for profit.

Expected discovery path

Secret Moons Guide in Lethal Company

The two moons hidden in Lethal Company - Embrion and Artifice - are not completely hidden and can be discovered without strategy or brute force cracking.

Embrion is mentioned in the entries of the Old Bird (Dangerous Mechanized War Robot), and you can learn that "in 2356, 5-Embrion was listed as a prohibited area for travel or settlement because a large number of old birds were found to be arranged on the horizon and in hibernation." Enter "Embrion" (or abbreviation version, abbreviation to "Emb") to go to Embrion. By the way, if you like using terminals in Lethal Company or its other minimalist in-game UI choices, you should check out this article about games with similar creative menus.

Artificial can be discovered through clues on the Adamance moon. On this moon, outside the facility, you can find a locked wooden house. On the wall of this wooden house, it is written "68-Art". If you enter this code directly to your computer terminal, you will report an error. However, enter "Art" to go to Artificial (you can also enter the full "Artificial" directly). This is because the moon is "68-Artifice", but there is no need to enter numbers when traveling to the moon.

It costs 150 to go to Embrion and 1500 to Artificial. To be discussed in more detail later, Embrion is essentially a deadly wonder (as the title entries mentioned that suggest), and Artifice is a highly risky but potentially very profitable destination in the later stage.

Embrion

Secret Moons Guide in Lethal Company

Some data claim Artifice is the deadliest moon that players can reach, but this is not the case during testing. The Embrion is a place where many old birds always sleep on its surface, with a rather straight and open road between the entrance and your spacecraft. Over time, these old birds will wake up slowly, and if it takes long enough, you visit during an eclipse, or you pull the device at the location (the item that powers the generator, the scan result is "?????"), most or all old birds will wake up. An old bird alone represents a huge threat, requiring careful planning, flexible steps, and possibly luck to escape after attracting their hatred. If three or four old birds attack you, this can easily happen on Embrion’s way to or back to the spacecraft, then you’re basically dead unless you can find cover quickly.

The internal structure of the Embrion is not particularly striking; it is usually a standard factory layout. Old birds also exist only outside. If you're fast enough and don't wake up all old birds by pulling the device or accessing during an eclipse, it's not impossible to survive in Embrion. However, this highlights the main problem of this moon: its loot table is pretty bad. In fact, the only reason for visiting is out of pathological curiosity so that you can see many old birds on the moon and test yourself to overcome the most likely chances. The risk of this moon is definitely not proportional to what you will find there; Embrion was designed so dangerous that the entire moon is isolated in the context of the story.

Artificial

Artifice is one of Lethal Company’s two final game moons, with the highest risk level (S), a high entry price of 1500 (highest in the game), high density loot and a good loot table. The community seems to be arguing whether Artifice or Titan is the best final game location, with Artifice access cost more than twice as much, with a higher risk of aging birds outside, but a safer overall inside. Artifice, in theory, provides the best opportunity to maximize profits in any moon. However, this must be balanced with the cost of entry and the fact that outside, once all enemies appear and become active, you will face great danger.

The sight of multiple active old birds patrolling the area is common, although they are easier to hide and avoid than sites like Embrion. You can even trap the otherwise invincible old birds (and the essentially invincible forest guardians) in three of the moon’s four large garages, allowing cunning, agile players to lock deadly enemies inside by opening the garage doors, luring creatures into it, and then closing those doors. Please note that one of the garages is inaccessible.

Internally, Artifice can have any layout, although it usually generates mine layouts. Its facilities can contain any potentially naturally generated indoor enemies as well as a large number of mines, turrets and spike traps. While internally safer than Titan, it should not be considered safe . The visiting players should be prepared and at least need to consider some kind of weapon and possibly use spray paint to help mark places you have been to effectively collect loot and return to the base without getting lost.

Unlike Embrion, there is a real reason to visit Artifice in addition to curiosity. As your quota increases, it will slowly become one of the few moons that can generate enough loot for you to collect the items you need to keep moving forward. Furthermore, one of its biggest barriers to entry—the huge cost—will theoretically become less and less problematic; either you have earned enough to access the moon, or you have not reached the quota and thus have failed. While this isn't a final game guide, for extreme late game runs, Artifice may end up being your only option when quotas become nearly insurmountable. Enter, plunder, leave (kind of like Dark and Darker, this game has some similarities and many differences with Lethal Company).
