How to Join the Same Lobby in Monster Hunter Wilds
Hunting monsters is fun, and hunting monsters with friends is even more fun. Monster Hunter Wilderness offers several different ways to team up, but the system can be a little confusing at the beginning. Here is a simple breakdown of how to join the same hall and play together without getting lost in the menu.
1. Join the link party (best for tasks)
If you just want to do tasks together, linking a party is the easiest way to do it. You don't even have to be in the same hall.
How to create or join a link party
- Open the menu and go to the Communications tab (voice bubble icon).
- Select Link Party.
- To invite friends: Select Invite to Link Party and select them (searching by Hunter ID if needed).
- To accept an invitation: Select Invitation List and accept.
- After the task is posted, it will automatically be displayed to all party members to join.
Link Party Advantages
- Includes voice and text chat.
- You will stay in the party between hunting.
- You can still be in different halls, but you can join the same task.
Cons: You can't actually see each other except for tasks. If you want to roam the world together, you need a link to the environment.
2. Use environment links (most suitable for exploring together)
If you want to see your friends in the world (not just in tasks), you need to enable environment links.
How to enable environment links
- First, create a link party (see steps above).
- Open the menu and go to Communications > Links Party.
- Select Invite everyone to join the environment link.
Now you share the same world with your friends and can explore together.
Things to remember
- If you don't see the "Invite Everyone to the Environment Link" option, you may be in a plot-locked area. Continue the game until the area is open.
- In the environment link, you cannot post tasks. To hunt, you need to leave and use the link party instead.
3. Use SOS flare to join the random player
If your friends are not online (or you just need quick help), you can join other players in hunting by responding to SOS flares.
How to join SOS signal buzzer
- Enter your tent during hunting.
- Go to Task Menu > Publish/Join Tasks.
- Select SOS Flame Task.
- Choose a hunt and join the action.
This is perfect when you need support but don't want to join the full lobby.
Which option should you use?
- Task together: Link Party
- Explore the world together: Environment link
- Quick hunt with random players: SOS flare
Now you know how to team up without getting lost in the menu. Go and call some friends and start hunting.
