WasteBin is a geo-based community platform designed to empower individuals and neighborhoods to take action against waste management challenges. By leveraging geolocation technology, members can report local waste issues, participate in clean-up events, and access resources for sustainable living. The platform fosters collaboration among users, encouraging them to share their waste reduction efforts and create a cleaner environment together.

Development Journey
Creating WasteBin has been an exciting journey using Wix Studio's powerful tools. I utilized Wix Studio’s JavaScript development capabilities to build a seamless user experience, incorporating geo-location features to enhance community engagement.
Velo APIs
To bring WasteBin to life, I utilized the following Velo APIs:
- Geolocation API: This allows users to automatically pinpoint their location for waste reporting and finding nearby recycling centers.
- Wix Data API: I used this to manage user-generated content, like waste reports and event listings, ensuring the community can contribute and access vital information easily.
- Wix Members API: This helps manage user profiles, enabling members to earn badges and track their contributions within the community.
Wix Apps
For added functionality, I integrated several Wix Apps:
- Wix Events: This app allows users to create and join community clean-up events and other waste management activities, fostering engagement and participation.
- Wix Chat: This feature provides real-time communication among members, enabling discussions, coordination of events, and sharing of tips.
- Wix Forms: I used forms for waste reporting and feedback, ensuring users can easily share their concerns or suggestions with the community.
