Redmi Buds 6: Xiaomi\'s latest wireless earbuds belie their budget price tag with ANC and HyperOS Connect support
Xiaomi has now introduced the Redmi Buds 6 as the titular member of the Redmi Buds 6 series. However, Xiaomi's latest pair of budget earbuds are not the first member of their series. Instead, Xiaomi has already released the Redmi Buds 6 Active (curr. $26.01), Redmi Buds 6 Lite and Redmi Buds 6S.
While the Redmi Buds 6 are relatively affordable thanks to their CNY 199 (~$28) launch price, they still support active noise cancellation (ANC). According to Xiaomi, each earbud can attenuate background noise by up to 49 dB while lasting up 10 hours on a single charge. Presumably, this only applies when ANC is disabled; Xiaomi does not specify how this estimate was achieved in its marketing material.
At any rate, each Redmi Buds 6 earbud also contains a dual driver set up consisting of a 12.4 mm titanium-coated diaphragm and a 5.5mm micro piezoelectric ceramic driver. Moreover, the earbuds feature four equaliser (EQ) modes, Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and are compatible with HyperOS Connect. Please note that the earbuds only master AAC and SBC codecs. Xiaomi has not commented on a global release yet. Typically, the company offers its budget earbuds outside China at some stage, though.
