Epson reveals new EF-21 and EF-22 mini laser projectors
Epson has unveiled the EpiqVision Mini EF-21 and EpiqVision Mini EF-22 smart home projectors for Europe. The two new models are similar, but the EF-22 provides a stand to allow you to adjust the projection angle.
Both the EF-21 and the EF-22 have a native 1080p resolution and a dynamic contrast ratio of up to 1:5,000,000. The projectors use 3LCD projection technology and can throw images up to 150 inches (~382 cm) wide, with autofocus, keystone correction and screenfit tools to perfect the picture. Plus, the laser light source delivers up to 1,000 lumens brightness. Integrated Google TV allows you to stream content from popular services like Apple TV and Netflix and brings Chomecast and Google Assistant voice commands. The second difference between the EF-21 and the EF-22 is found in the speakers; both models have built-in 5W speakers, though the EF-22 also has a passive radiator for enhanced bass.
On top of this, the company claims that the projectors are maintenance-free for up to 10 years. The Epson EpiqVision Mini EF-21 and EpiqVision Mini EF-22 projectors will launch in the EU this October, retailing for €899 (~$999) and €1,099 (~$1,222), respectively. Details about a launch in the US have yet to be revealed; customers in this region can buy the older Mini EF-12 laser projector.
