New brighter Govee COB Light Strip Pro with Matter now available
The Govee COB Light Strip Pro has been launched in North America and Europe. The COB (Chip on Board) LED strip lights provide 1,260 LEDs per meter, providing fluid color transitions along the strip. Customers can choose between two lengths: 9.8ft (~3m) and 16.4ft (~5m).
The COB Light Strip Pro is also said to be particularly bright at 450 lumens per meter (~3.3 ft); by comparison, the older Neon Rope Lightoffers just 80 lumens per meter. The RGBIC W LEDs deliver a wide range of colors, and can last for over 30,000 hours. You set your own colors and effects in the Govee Home App or select from a wide range of preset scenes. The smart lights work with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa and are Matter compatible. Plus, they are easy to install thanks to an acrylic backing that makes them easier to stick to your chosen surface, and the strip can be cut in various places.
Both lengths of the Govee COB Light Strip Pro are available in the US, retailing for $99.99 and $149.99, respectively. At the time of writing, only the shorter 9.8ft (~3m) version is sold in the EU for €99.99. It remains to be seen whether or when the longer variant could reach this region, or if the products will launch in the UK.
