Nintendo has extended its PlayVS e-sports partnership to develop competitive gamers by providing free Nintendo Switch consoles and games. The three-year effort to establish competitive gaming teams has resulted in the creation of 10,500 high school teams nationwide playing over 73,000 matches thus far.

Nintendo has been working with PlayVS for the past three years to develop competitive Nintendo Switch gaming at high schools across America. The company has provided $2.1 million in free equipment and software to needy high schools. The continuing partnership will extend the program to cover both middle and high schools across America. Students can play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Splatoon 3 competitively, although available titles depend on state game association rules.
