The Atari 7800+ is the latest retro console from the popular game company. The new console is a modern take on the Atari 7800 ProSystem released back in 1986. Thanks to advancements in technology, Atari has made the new console smaller than the original. The Atari 7800+ joins the Atari 2600+ (available on Amazon for $129.99) in Atari's lineup of remade retro consoles.
Available to pre-order for $129.99 and with a winter 2024 release timeframe, the Atari 7800+ has an HDMI port, so it can connect to modern TVs, monitors, or even a projector if you wish. There is also the option to switch from widescreen to a 4:3 viewing option for that retro feeling.
The console is compatible with both Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 game cartridges, and according to the product page, it has ''near-perfect compatibility with original and third-party Atari games''.
