Deepin 23-based ExTiX 24.8 live Linux launches with Synaptic Package Manager and Google Chrome in tow
Released earlier this week, Deepin 23 is a Linux distro with a predominantly Chinese userbase. Developed in Wuhan, China, Deepin comes with its own web browser, namely Deepin Browser. However, Deepin 23 only includes this app in Chinese, even when choosing English as the primary language. ExTiX 24.8 comes to address this matter while offering its users both the chance to run a live Linux environment that's based on Deepin 23 or install it on a hard drive.
ExTiX 24.8 arrived yesterday, and while using Deepin 23 as a foundation, it employs the 6.10.3-amd64-exton kernel, which is a special piece of code equivalent to Kernel.org's 6.10.3 stable kernel. Conceived as a live Linux distro, ExTiX is highly customizable, so those interested can create their own live, installable Deepin 23-based environment with the help of Refracta Snapshot. When booting it up as a live system, ExTiX 24.8 can be installed on the hard drive using Refracta Installer or Deepin Installer.
In addition to sporting Google Chrome 127.0.6533.119-1 instead of Deepin Browser, ExTiX 24.8 also comes with the popular Synaptic Package Manager. Those looking for the best speed possible who also have enough memory can use boot alternative 2 (load to RAM) or Advanced when starting up, and the system will be loaded entirely into the RAM, allowing the removal of the DVD or USB drive used for booting.
Last but not the least, it should be taken into account that ExTiX 24.8 is, at least at the moment, the only "good" live English version of Deepin 23 stable. A very useful accessory for most Linux users is a mouse pad that contains shortcuts and commands for the Linux command line. The XL-sized (80 x 30 cm/31.5 x 11.8 in) mouse pad from Glittery Garden is currently 22% off on Amazon, so it can be acquired for $20.95 instead of $27.
The above is the detailed content of Deepin 23-based ExTiX 24.8 live Linux launches with Synaptic Package Manager and Google Chrome in tow. For more information, please follow other related articles on the PHP Chinese website!
