Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 shows itself before presumed September release with substantial charging upgrade
There have been plenty of Redmi Note 14 series related leaks and rumours in recent months. Initially, the likes of Digital Chat Station asserted that Xiaomi planned to equip the Redmi Note 14 Pro with various camera upgrades, including a new 50 MP primary camera sensor.
Subsequently, the leaker claimed that the same device would receive the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, a chipset that Qualcomm has not officially announced yet. Following that, Digital Chat Station implied that the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus may utilise the MediaTek Dimensity 7350, which also powers the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. On top of that, the prolific account shared evidence that Xiaomi had developed three Redmi Note 14 smartphones under the following model numbers:
- 24115RA8EC
- 24090RA29C
- 24094RAD4C
Previously, it was unclear with what retail names these model numbers were associated. However, a recent 3C listing has shed some light on 24090RA29C and where it sits in Xiaomi's Redmi Note 14 product stack. As the image below shows, Xiaomi has certified 24090RA29C with MDY-17-EE, an unreleased charger that received approval from the 3C a few months ago.
The photo also outlines that MDY-17-EE supports up to 45 W (11 VDC/4.1 A) wired charging, which is considerably less than the 67 W or 120 W wired charging that the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus (curr. $389.99 on Amazon) are capable of, respectively. Conversely, Xiaomi offers the Redmi Note 13 with 33 W wired charging. As such, it appears that 24090RA29C relates to the Redmi Note 14, which could launch as soon as next month with 45 W wired charging.
